The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice is a dynamic force within Dartmouth College dedicated to improving health care.
The Dartmouth Institute has a rich history of health services and healthcare delivery science research – from our work on regional care variations to examining how payment reform models are being formed to implementing patient driven measures into clinical care.
Research teams work on a variety of cutting-edge health projects including, documenting geographic health variations, implementing and evaluating population health initiatives, evaluating innovative payment reform efforts, implementing new models of health care delivery (e.g., accountable care organizations), evaluating and describing the landscape of health systems, investigating patient-centered decision support tools, and examining the use of evidence based care across and within systems. We use several lenses to understand how different populations - like the socially disadvantaged, persons with cancer, chronic conditions, or other high cost/high need individuals - are faring within these projects.
