As a research project coordinator at The Dartmouth Institute Alex Mainor focuses on the evaluation of factors impacting performance of accountable care organizations (ACOs), primarily using data from the National Survey of ACOs and Medicare claims, as well as the study of unnecessary or wasteful medical care (low-value care). In this role, he facilitates research of various payment reform efforts by writing grant applications, conducting initial research, drafting manuscripts, and presenting project findings. His areas of expertise include national payment and delivery system reform efforts, current developments in health policy, and low-value care. Mainor joined The Dartmouth Institute in 2014 after earning his MPH in Health Services Management and Policy from The Ohio State University. He received his JD from The Ohio State University and his BA in political science from Rice University.
