About the PRCD
The Prevention Research Center at Dartmouth (PRCD) at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice is one of 37 national Prevention Research Centers funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The PRCD embraces the health promotion and disease prevention objectives of “Healthy People 2010” and focuses on the priority condition of cardiovascular disease with an emphasis on underserved, vulnerable populations.
PRCD Community Advisory Committee
The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is composed of state and local public health officials, health coalition members, physicians, and our region's academic institutions.

The CAC advises the core faculty of the PRCD on strategic vision to improve the cardiovascular health of New Hampshire and Vermont.  Learn more.

Action Learning Collaboratives
An Action- Learning Collaborative (ALC) brings together interdisciplinary teams who are working to improve a process, practice, or system. These teams use improvement science to guide their work toward a shared aim. All team members learn and teach from their collective experiences and challenges. ALC’s have successfully operated to improve outcomes in a broad range of settings and have measurably improved the health of targeted populations.  Learn more.
Tobacco Cessation Model
As part of its mission to reduce cardiovascular disease in New Hampshire and Vermont, the Prevention Research Center at Dartmouth is working to reduce tobacco abuse in our communities and educate providers and public health professionals about effective ways to reduce smoking in the populations they serve.The PRCD makes available these web-based resources for providers and those trying to quit smoking, with a focus on vulnerable populations.
