Health Insurance Waiver due
Pre-Orientation Self-Assessment due

Online MPH Program Starts
Approximately two weeks after you have confirmed your enrollment, a Dartmouth Net ID and email will be generated for you. Once you receive this email please follow the steps provided.
Purpose Claiming your email account lets you reset your password on your own if you ever forget.
Note: You can still use your account if you have not claimed it.
Timing Claiming can happen as soon as a student’s name is in Banner, where they get a NetID.
• Claiming is simple. Just go to https://claim.dartmouth.edu which asks for three items: NetID, Birthdate, and Last Name.
• To lookup your NetID, go to http://geiselmed.dartmouth.edu/oit/netid
• For any trouble claiming an account, go to your help desk: TDI.Computing@dartmouth.edu
• A person only needs to claim an account once. If a student or employee has already claimed their account, they do not need to do so a second time. Each person probably remembers if they claimed their account, because it is a process in which you setup security questions.
About Dartmouth email addresses
People can look up their full email address using: http://dndlookup.dartmouth.edu
There is generally no need to include someone's suffix when you send them an email. Anyone can set up an email alias by going to https://dartdm.dartmouth.edu. This way you can receive email sent to Dana.email@example.com as well as firstname.lastname@example.org.
Suffixes and email for life. Dartmouth does not change the official email name once someone has an email account. It's "email for life." People will not be having their email address changed to include a .GR. The suffix is not intended to identify the group in which someone belongs. It is simply a naming convention to avoid name collisions over time—that is, two people with the same name in the Dartmouth system. Dartmouth central computing uses the suffixes to avoid duplicate names, but because the suffix is irrelevant to users (see above), even if a person’s role changes at Dartmouth, their email address remains the same for life.
In the rare instances that someone legally changes their name, the email address can be changed manually, but it is a time-intensive process at central computing.
If you are locked out of your Dartmouth account
When users can’t log in, there are two different error messages they get, which gives a hint to where the issue may be. The content of the error message will be similar but the key indicators that will allow TDI Computing to expedite your issue will be the following terms:
- “Not Recognized”
This means that the password they have entered for their NetID is incorrect, or that their account in Active Directory has been locked (probably due to number of incorrect password attempts).
First, visit https://dartdm.dartmouth.edu and attempt a self-service password reset. If this is not successful, see below.
- “Not Authorized”
This means their account is locked in OAAM due to failed attempts at security questions, but it does mean they are using the correct password. The users security questions will need to be reset. Resetting the password will NOT clear the lockout in the security questions.
Please note which error you have received when you contact TDI Computing directly or via our Contact Page and they will facilitate the reset of your account through the appropriate channels.
Use this checklist to prepare your computer: TDI computing requirements 2018
Note that you must complete some steps before completing any pre-orientation assignments.
All Dartmouth College students are required to have health insurance that meets specific standards of coverage. If you need the coverage provided by Dartmouth College’s Student Group Health Plan, the plan’s premium will be billed to your student account. No further action is required. If you have existing health insurance coverage and want to continue with that coverage, you MUST complete the on-line insurance waiver or you will automatically be enrolled in the Dartmouth Student Group Health Plan and required to pay the insurance premium. Instructions and completion form for the waiver are found in the link below:

Dartmouth Real Estate Unfurnished Rentals:
With regards to Dartmouth College’s rental housing—all of our available rental listings are posted and applied for online: http://realestate.dartmouth.edu/dartmouth-rentals (search listings for Dartmouth College graduate students from the toggle buttons at the top of the page). If you see a property you are interested in, please apply for it online. There is a non-refundable application fee of $50 for each application submitted. It is a first come, first serve application process. After submitting an application you have one business day to call our office at 603-646-2170 to pay the $50 non-refundable application fee over the phone with a credit card. If we do not receive the payment over the phone within one business day, your application will be canceled. Our office can only accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit cards. Business hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00AM-4:00PM EST.
All units must be leased from the date they are listed as available for the lease term dates specified, and you must be an enrolled graduate student for the entire lease term. Current tenants provide us with 90 days’ notice of their move out date, so usually we can only see about 3 months out with regards to what rentals might be coming available. This means that rentals coming available in the summer usually don’t show up online until late March-May.
Once you apply for a Dartmouth Real Estate rental unit you have seven days to sign and return the lease paperwork along with the security deposit check. You can follow our office on Twitter (https://twitter.com/DartmouthRE) or Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/DCREO/) to receive updates when we post new listings online. We post listings as they come available to us so new rentals can come up at any moment during the work week (Mon-Fri 8AM-4PM).
Other Housing Options:
For a more extensive array of rental housing options, there are non-Dartmouth owned rentals. You can search the Upper Valley Rentals list: http://realestate.dartmouth.edu/upper-valley-rentals. These properties are managed independently and feature a wide variety of properties. Please reach out to the landlords and contacts on the listings directly with any questions or requests to view the property.
There is also Dartlist (http://www.dartlist.com/?cat=8) which is Dartmouth’s version of Craigslist. If you look under Housing you can often find other rentals not listed elsewhere on here. There is Craigslist https://nh.craigslist.org/ and there are other local landlords such as Purcell Properties, Emerson Place, Timberwood Commons, and Stone Farm. You can also check with local realtors (such as Coldwell Banker Lifestyles and Four Seasons Sotheby’s) for any available rentals through their offices.
