Robin Paradis Montibello is The Preference Laboratory Manager under Glyn Elwyn, where she serves as an integral member of the team to support, coordinate, and achieve laboratory objectives, communicate laboratory strategy and operations, and work effectively toward problem resolution. The Preference Laboratory at The Dartmouth Institute is a research group focused on developing tools and interventions to improve shared decision making in health care. Previously Paradis Montibello worked as a librarian in public libraries in Pittsburgh, PA and Amesbury, MA, before turning to medical librarianship at both Exeter Hospital in Exeter, NH, and at Dartmouth. Her proudest achievement as a librarian was managing a multi-year project converting the Health Science Library at Exeter Hospital from being mostly print to mostly digital. Before becoming a librarian, she taught English as a Second Language, working with both high school students and adults in the cities of Lowell, Lawrence, and Haverhill, MA. Helping people to access and understand information through literacy, language—and now shared decision making—is her passion. Paradis Montibello holds an MS library and information science from Simmons College and a BA in English from the University of Massachusetts.
