Dartmouth MPH and MS students and alumni can attest to the wealth of career resources available to them at any level of their career paths. Career Path: Healthcare Administration
What makes The Dartmouth Institute’s Career Resources distinctive is the personal touch and dedication of the Institute’s career staff and the resources they have to connect students and graduates with their desired work. Brian has provided an invaluable perspective from a Human Resources lens in helping me organize my resume and navigate career prospects. He has become a trusted partner and resource now and in the years to come.
"The uniqueness of a career in public health is that there are a myriad of paths you can take – government roles, healthcare system roles, consultant positions, NGOs. The Dartmouth Institute's Career Resources are able to navigate you in all of those paths and connect you with alumni that have taken that journey before you. They are invested in your success and development. That's an incredible asset to have at your fingertips."
- Pearly Ittickathra, MD, MPH'15
Career Path: Senior Director managing operations for the emergency department and inpatient hospital services for a medically underserved hospital
Brian has been with me on the journey from the application process to now, 20 months into the position. He was so instrumental in helping me shape my resume and cover letter to fit the job application. Brian also coached me through two rounds of the interview process. He took the time to run through mock interview questions, send me resources to prep, and even debrief after the interviews. Even after I got the position, Brian reaches out to me at least once a month to just get an update on how things are going and see what I'm thinking about for the future.
"The Dartmouth Institute's Career Resources are unique because they are specifically designed for Dartmouth MPH and MS students. Brian knows the curriculum, so he always makes himself available to accommodate students' schedules, and Brian's advice is tailored toward helping students reach their career goals."
- Chia-Ding (JD) Shih, DPM, MPH'18
Career Path: Podiatrist and Public Health Fellow with the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA)
I attended Dartmouth's MPH program through a podiatric pubic health fellowship sponsored by the American Podiatric Medical Association. Throughout my time as a student, Brian helped me review my CV and cover letter, and evaluate several career opportunities in and out of the public health field. I highly encourage students to reach out to Brian early on so they would be aware the plethora of support and resources that Brian can offer. Job searching takes time to prepare like studying for tests, and Brian can help students put together a career progression plan that makes sense for them.
